On October 1st, runners across the country are participating—virtually and very literally—in RunTough for Team Owen, to benefit ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation.
Because this event is virtual, you can run any day leading up to RunTough weekend. That said, we encourage you to participate on Saturday, October 1st, to show solidarity with Team Owen runners/walkers and the Ten other ChadTough teams participating on this date across the country.
Your route. Your time. Your pace. Your community.
REMOTE RUNNERS: PARTICIPATE WHERE AND HOW YOU WANT
You can run, walk, bike, swim indoors, whatever suits your style.
MapMyRun.com is a great source for mapping out your 5K. Just do your thing and then post your route and/or race day photo to social media with #OwenTough2022 and the owentough.org link.
Use fitness tracking apps? Bonus points for running “O”s (at a track, in a park … be creative!) for Owen and sharing an image of your route.
Search #OwenTough2022 to get ideas and see some of the ways runners are keeping Owen in mind as they prepare for the event.
LOCAL RUNNERS: WHEREVER YOU ARE, WE’RE HERE
For those running in the Oak Park area, our friends at Lively Athletics created four routes for you to consider:
We will also be hosting a block party on the 900 block of N. Grove with crafts, sporting games, three bands, a fantastic DJ and food. A schedule of the day is below. Please feel free to swing by for a bite and some fun.
Lastly, we are raffling off a tandem bike, thanks to Barnard's Schwinn. Tickets are $5/1 or $20/5.
